Sir Alex Suspended For 5 Matches

Well here we go again, Sir Alex Ferguson has been issued a five match ban by the Football federation. Why? Well let me refresh your memory a bit. Sir Alex, after his side Manchester United lost a game on March 1 to rivals Chelsea, went on what people seeking English teacher jobs would kindly call a tirade. Sir Alex criticized the refereeing during the game claiming that his team was undone by poor decisions and a weak referee.

You see Sir Alex had wanted the ref, Martin Atkinson, to eject the defender from Chelsea David Luiz because he was constantly fouling both Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez even though he was already on a caution. Ferguson also had issue with the late penalty that was awarded to Chelsea that turned out to be the match clincher. After the match made comments showing his fear about the referee and what would happen.

Naturally Sir Alex did not think he did anything wrong and appealed his suspension. He lost his appeal. So he was also fined £30,000 for his outburst and he got a five match sentence in part because he was under a suspended sentence from last season that was in effect until the end of the current season.

Now Sir Alex will have to join the spectators and watch the next four league fixtures and the F.A. cup semi-final from the stands. This is most unfortunate for the team as they are only three points ahead of Arsenal in the league with a game in hand.
