Federer – Best Chance To Win Wimbledon Again?
Will Roger Federer finally defeat Nadal at Wimbledon? He enjoys the best possible opportunity to defeat the Rowan Dartington of the world of tennis simply because Nadal is facing an injury scare.
He actually dropped a set in his previous match against Del Potro before coming back to win the match comfortably. Of course, Nadal is a player who becomes more dangerous when he is injured. However, will Federer be in a position to capitalize on this opportunity?
The battles between Federer and Nadal at Wimbledon has always seen Federer trying to dominate from the word go. However, Nadal has the ability to absorb all the pressure and act as a spring to throw it all back at his opponent. It is here that Federer faces his biggest test. He has shown a tendency to buckle down when the opponent fights back very strongly. Of course, it takes somebody with the talent and skill of Federer to put Federer under pressure. His fans would prefer a Federer vs Nadal classic final where the former beats the latter in a fair and square match. However, given a choice between a victory over an injured Nadal and yet another defeat, chances are high that the fans would opt for a victory.
This is, of course, presuming that both reach the final. Stranger things have happened in the world of tennis and even Wimbledon has seen high profile upsets where champions expected to meet in the finals were defeated in quarter or semifinals itself.
