Boxing Day Cricket

December 19th, 2011 posted by admin

Cricket is one of the main sports in India. Even though hockey is the national game in India, it is an accepted fact that Cricket is far more popular than hockey. India is the country where cricketers are loved to the extent that they are sometimes called god and in some places even worshipped. The year 2011 was a glorious year for the Indian Cricket team as the team won the Cricket World Cup again after twenty eight years. Nothing better could have happened to the Indian cricket team or for the Indian cricket fans all around the world.

While the hype of the world cup win has been really high, the Indian team would be barely thinking about it as of now, when they are in Australia preparing for the Boxing Day test match. The Australian team has been one of the most dominating teams in the past decade and they will try everything possible to defeat India at home. I am sure the memories of the Boxing Day test match in 2003 where Australia was both defeated and humiliated in India, would still be haunting them. It is one thing to be champions but it’s entirely a different story when you are defeated while you are hailed as champions.

The match is scheduled to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and a lot of hype has already been created by the media in both India and Australia. The good thing for the Indian Cricket team is that Indians are everywhere, so support is something the team will not be missing out in Australia. Will this game be a thriller; there is no doubt about that. Cricket fans all around that world are certain to be glued around their televisions or computers. Now parcels from same day courier service have two reasons to be delayed: one is Christmas and the other the mega cricket match. It does not matter whether you support Australia or India or none of them, but if you want to enjoy some aggressive and thrilling cricket, make sure you do not miss out on this game.
